Yetunde’s story

Without supported housing help, she doesn't know what she would have done.

Yetunde was seeking asylum from a domestic violence situation. She was living in temporary accommodation but when she was granted asylum, she was given two weeks notice to move out. This led to Yetunde moving in to Benjamin Court.

The scheme gave Yetunde an allowance of money to spend. This ensured she could buy food for herself and her daughter who lives with a disability. Without it, Yetunde doesn’t know what she would have done. She would have no money and no support with her daughter being fully dependent on her.

“Supported housing is a safe environment, giving us a secure place to live.”
