Sarah’s story

Sarah has gained her confidence back and looks forward to the future.

Young families who need a bit of extra support are being helped to gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed by Nehemiah Housing Association’s two supported housing schemes in Wolverhampton.
During their stay of up to two years, families receive a range of support from our staff and other agencies. This includes help to maintain a tenancy, budget and manage bills, and to look at education and employment options.

Young mum Sarah has gained the confidence to look forward to a bright future.

“I came here after a bad relationship ended, feeling like an emotional wreck and too scared to go out,” she remembers. “A year on, and my toddler and I are feeling on top of the world. Thanks to the amazing support, I’ve gained my level 2 NVQ in Early Years and become financially stable. We’ve had joy, love and happiness here. Keeping hold of all the positive thoughts and words I’ve been given, it’s time to move on.”
